Summary
This is an attempt to write something in a sort of Arthurian, Middle English style (I didn't actually write in Middle English my god I couldn't do that). It's very knightly and courtly and focuses on an imagined love affair between Baldr and Hoþr reflecting in their descendants. Obligatory tragedy when we get to the part that goes into the plot of the game.
Eldigan kneeled at Sigurd’s bed and exchanged a kiss in greeting. “I’m to ask for some of your luck afore I head out. There have been spotted bandits to the south, and a glut of my men are still too worn to sortie. I hate to leave you—”
“Then don’t, Milord.” Sigurd knew not where the words came from. He held Eldigan by his gauntlet, cold. The absence of Eldigan’s shield put Sigurd ill at ease.
Eldigan gripped Sigurd’s wan hand in turn. “I do hate to leave, but I’ll only be a day or two. By my return, you could be whole again with some help from Lachesis and kind Ethlyn.” -
